Halloween

This year Brinlee dressed up as the "beautiful" princess Fiona and Brecken was Puss 'n' Boots. We went to Trunker Treat first and then went to a few houses in the neighborhood. By the time we were done Brecken had it figured out. He would walk up to the door with a death grip on his bag and open it long enough to get a treat. Then he waddled back and wanted to be held while we walked to the next house. Of course Brinlee had a great time getting candy for being a gorguous princess. After we were done trick or treating we went to my parents house for pizza and Krispy Kreme doughnuts. We did not have enough sugar with all the candy!

Getting ready to go...

Trick or Treat...

Snow White and Fiona taking a moment to pose

Notice Brecken has a piece of candy in every one of the last three pictures, he was on a slight sugar high!!

Boondocks

Since we had Brecken's Birthday party the day before his birthday we ended up going house hunting and furniture shopping on his actual birthday! I felt really guilty for doing that and also for dragging them around all day. Since it was Brecken's birthday and they both did acutally pretty good we decided to take them to Boondocks to play. We had lots of fun and got plenty of junk with the tickets Brinlee won. For an update on our housing situation, we have an offer in right now for a great house in Saratoga Springs. Both Brad and I love it out there and can actually agree that it works to live there. We are really excited and hope things work out. The house we want is a short sale so it takes forever long for everything to go through. We will keep everyone updated as we figure things out!

Brin having a great time on the swing, and then she fell off!

Sucking down on my Diet Coke!

Brecken turns 1!

My baby boy turned one on October 30. I was kinda sad, but he is so fun at this age. I love him so much! Some things about Brecken when he turned one are:
  • He walkes
  • He LOVES his blanket
  • He says Mama and Hi plus he screams for fun!
  • He sleeps through the night, most of the time
  • He climbs on the couch and chairs
  • He has 8 teeth
  • He adores his sister
  • He loves to wrestle with his dad
  • He loves to snuggle with me and his blankie
  • He runs outside any chance he gets
  • He likes to hit anything that comes within reach
  • He puts anything in his mouth and bites
  • He is a good eater
  • He loves to drink whether it be from his sippy or a big cup with a straw or no straw
  • He wakes up with a smile
  • He meets me at the door with a huge smile and a hug after work
  • He loves Lizzy, except when she sits on his blanket
  • He likes to talk on the phone
  • He loves to take baths
  • He likes to play in my makeup or with his toothbrush when I get ready
  • He likes to play in the kitchen with the spatulas and pots and pans
We love you buddy!

He was clapping because we are such good singers

It took him a while but he finally figured it was okay for him to dig in and smash it!

Jackie's visit

My sister Jackie and her son Carter came up last week to visit and meet my newest niece Kinnli. We had tons of fun! We had a girls plus dad night! My parents and all my sisters went up to Provo and ate at Chili's then we went to Mama Mia! It was hilarious just to watch my dad in the movie! He about died every time they burst into song! The day before everybody went up to Thanksgiving point and played! The kids had a great time. It was good to spend time with my whole family.

Breckenridge Trip

Alright, so I have tons to catch up on. A few weeks ago we met Brad's parents in Breckenridge Colorado. We usually go up there once a year. Yes it did kind of inspire my son's name! Anyway for those of you who don't know where Breckenridge is, it is located close to Denver and it is a small ski town like Park City. We love going up there to get away, it is so pretty. Plus they have Baba Gumps and Eric's!! The first time we went it was "mud season" and those were the only two restraunts that were open, actually the only things open period!! At least they have good food! We had a great time, and it is always fun to see Nana and Papa!!

Our best find shopping! Brad was so proud!

Brinlee is great at posing for pictures!

Brecken just enjoying the yummy sand!

Posing again!

And again...

I think our kids favorite part of staying in a hotel is swimming. This is Brinlee doing her fancy jumps into the pool! Yes it was heated!

Brecken is having a great time, yelling of course!

My big ten month old boy...and my broken dog!

My baby boy is ten months old, and he thinks he is soooo big! He is through and through a true boy, everything about him screams boy! It is so funny to compare my two children. Brinlee is the most dainty, girly princess you will ever meet, she is into dresses, jewelry, makeup, shoes, purses, and anything else you can think of that is pink! Then there is Brecken he is loud and rough. He beats his sister with anything he gets his hands on, he is constantly on the move until the second he falls asleep and he yells and growls constantly. He is not even mad, he just thinks its funny. This morning he was quietly resting his head on my shoulder getting ready to take a nap(keep in mind this is the only time that he actually holds still) when all of the sudden his head pops up and he starts pointing at something and yelling at it, of course. I look closer and there is a bug crawling across the tile. He squirms off my lap and heads right for the bug and picks it up and starts to play with it. Anyway my point is my kids are night and day, it is hilarious.
He has conquered standing while holding his sippy cup..

Can you see all four teeth on the bottom...That makes six now he is going on eight!

Here is an example of Brecken's talking, he is hilarious!! It's horrible to say, but at one point it looks like he is going into a seizure or something!

My poor puppy!! So Brad ran our dog over the other day, how sad is that! We had just left her for a few days and we think she thought Brad was leaving her again so she ran to chase the car. Luckily he just got her one leg. She gets around on it pretty good now, but the poor thing couldn't hardly move with the cast when she first got it. And of course Brecken has to grab her cast and pull on it! All my family has signed her cast, everyone feels bad for poor Lizzy!

Here is a short little clip with Brecken taking a few steps. He walks really well until he realizes he is not holding onto anything. Watch in the background and you will see Lizzy hoping along with her cast.

Rasmussen Family Reunion

So we went "camping" down by Beaver for my family reunion last weekend. I say "camping" because my family, as in Brad, I, and Brecken(Brinlee of course had to stay with Grandma and Grandpa) stayed in the Best Western in town, while everyone else really did camp. For all of you that may not know, Brad does not camp! The Best Western IS camping! He is a little OCD and just has to be clean. I've accepted that, and just humor him when we have to stay in a hotel. Whatever! Anyway, we had a good time during the day. Brinlee had a great time playing with her cousins and Brecken thought it was fantastic to play in the dirt and get as messy as he could! There was a lake up there that had canoes on that the kids loved.
Brad taking a load of kids for a ride...

Now its Grandpa's turn to take them...

My dad tied two canoes together so he could take all the kids fishing.

This is Brecken before I cleaned him up for the ride to the hotel. I think he thinks dirt tasts like chocolate.

Brinlee's first day of school

Today was Brinlee's first day of Kindergarten. She was so excited to go and start, she walked into the classroom and let go of my hand immediately to go find her seat. There was absolutely no hesitation on her part. Honestly I feel horrible saying that I did not cry when I dropped her off. Trust me I have my issues with her going, yet I am also excited for her. I know she will do fantastic! I just can't believe my sweet baby girl is old enough to start school, its crazy.

The only problem we did have was getting her up and ready. She is NOT a morning person. Needless to say she will be going to bed much earlier tonight!!!

Sure enough when I picked her up, she was so excited to show me her folder with her "homework" in it. She loved her first day of kindergarten. I asked her what she learned at school and one thing she said was that she learned how to not be naughty. I can only hope that it applies for her at home too!!!
